How The Reader's Digest P150,000,000 Sweepstakes Works

1. These prize draws are presented in conjunction with various product offers from Reader’s Digest and its licensees or partners and open on 1 January 2010 and close at midnight local time of the participating countries on 31 December 2010. Entry is by invitation only, and is open to residents of legal age in The Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. Employees of Reader's Digest and its agencies, its partners or licensees, and their immediate families up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity, are not eligible to participate in these draws.

2. Eligibility for entry to the prize draws offered is dependent upon replying in accordance with the conditions and instructions in the accompanying promotional material. No purchase is necessary to enter. Multiple entries are permitted provided each entry is on an original Reader’s Digest entry form. No facsimiles or copies are permitted. In some cases where it will not be necessary to return an entry form to participate, specific mention will be made of that fact in the promotional material. When website or telephone entry is offered, entries may be submitted by following the instructions in the promotional material. Entries must be received by the sweepstakes closing date. Additional deadlines apply to certain prizes including the Bonus Prizes and, based on relevant local postal guidelines, Reader’s Digest allows one week for delivery and one week for return in addition to any deadline stated. Reader's Digest will accept no responsibility for entries which become lost or damaged, or delayed in transit. All eligible entries will qualify as finalists and have a fair and equal chance to win.

3. Reader’s Digest reserves the right to increase the value of any prize on offer in one or more mailings. The decision to increase a prize value for a mailing will be totally at the discretion of Reader’s Digest and will be indicated in the promotional material for the affected mailing. Should the winning entry come from a mailing in which an increased prize value has been offered, Reader’s Digest will award the winner the increased prize value indicated in that mailing. For all other mailings a winning entry will receive the stated prize value without the increase.

4. The draw for winners will be held on or about 11 January 2011 in the offices of Reader’s Digest, Singapore. The draw will be held in the presence of an independent professional and a representative from the Department of Trade and Industry of The Philippines, and all decisions will be final.

5. All winners will be notified by registered mail and the winners of cash prizes will be announced in the Philippine Daily Inquirer in The Philippines; the United Daily News in Taiwan; the South China Morning Post; the Apple Daily in Hong Kong; The Straits Times in Singapore and the Reader’s Digest website on www.rdasia.com no later than 18 January 2011. A full list of winners will be available upon written request after 18 January 2011. Responsibility for paying the 20% withholding tax for winning prizes exceeding P10,000.00 and all other taxes that may be payable on prizes will be borne by the winners. How The Golden Number Giveaway Works

3. A winning number was selected randomly in the computer by an independent solicitor on 7 December 2009 in the presence of a representative from the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry. This number was registered and enclosed in a sealed envelope and kept by the solicitor. Another copy of the winning number will also be kept by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry. The solicitor will release the winning number on 11 January 2011 to the Prize Award Administrator, who will verify whether the person issued the winning number have in fact returned it as instructed, and can be declared prize winner. If the winning number has not been returned, the prize will be awarded to the person who has returned the nearest number to the winning number, with the higher number having precedence in the event of two returned numbers being equidistant from the winning number. All decisions regarding the draw will be final.
